In February, the Bodegas Arzuaga team held a full Arzuaga experience in Dubai. The restaurant Boca – the ultimate point of reference in Mediterranean and European cuisine in the United Arab Emirates – hosted a paired dinner featuring a menu based on the cuisine at Taller and a selection of Bodegas Arzuaga wines, with the atmosphere and design that characterise our location in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Amaya Arzuaga and Jhon Mendoza, the manager and head chef at Taller Arzuaga, respectively, and Ignacio Arzuaga and Javier Bañales, managing director and sales manager and brand ambassador of Bodegas Arzuaga, respectively, all travelled to Dubai on behalf of the Bodegas Arzuaga team.
The aim of this action was to create a full Arzuaga experience in Dubai for all five senses. To do this, we put special emphasis on aspects such as the catering, the range of wines, the communication and the production. In this sense, Jhon Mendoza, the head chef at the Michelin-starred Taller Arzuaga, prepared a menu based on the dishes normally served at the restaurant, although with some of the recipes adapted to Emirati products. It was a true fusion of flavours based on the local cuisine that both Taller and Boca champion. Meanwhile, Amaya Arzuaga, Taller’s manager, took care of the design and production of this paired dinner.
Ignacio Arzuaga and Javier Bañales were in charge of presenting and pairing the wines chosen for this occasion. The careful selection was based on the perfect match between the dishes from the menu designed and prepared by Jhon Mendoza and Amaya Arzuaga.
The event was attended by 85 people, including industry professionals, Spain’s ambassador in Dubai, restaurant managers, sommeliers, specialist journalists, VIP customers of the restaurant and importers.
Arzuaga in the UAE
The United Arab Emirates, and Dubai, more specifically, is a market of great interest to Bodegas Arzuaga, which is present in some of the most exclusive establishments in this Emirate. A prominent example of this is the fact that La Planta and Fan D’Oro have been served as Spanish wines by the glass at the Burj Al Arab, Dubai’s 7-star luxury hotel.
The Arzuaga experience was a complete success and an event we are particularly proud of.
