The 8th of March is International Women’s Day and, at Arzuaga, it’s a date we highlight in particular since it’s been clear to us for many years that women are a very important part of our Group and, consequently, our success. This is affirmed by Patricia de Juan, Arzuaga’s PR and events manager, who says, ‘Arzuaga is one of the wine groups with the most women on its staff, and I’m sure that’s a fundamental reference that’s helping us move forward with the growth we have and hope to keep having’.
Patricia’s words are taken from a video that you’ve probably already seen on our YouTube channel. We made this video for International Women’s Day 2019 when we wanted to pay tribute to all the women who dedicate their efforts and everyday work to Arzuaga.
To create it, we called on six of the women who work at the group and who represent different sectors of activity: Patricia de Juan, PR and events manager; Tina de la Peña, head of administration; Sonia Herrero, winemaker; Mónica Martínez, Hotel Arzuaga receptionist; Guiomar Arranz, wine tourism specialist; and Lorena Tejeda, a therapist at our spa.
One of the keys that most of them share is the stability and possibilities for professional development offered by Arzuaga. ‘I started out as an admin assistant and now I’m the head of admin… growing at full speed,’ explains Tina. Patricia reaffirms this, saying, ‘I started out as an intern and little by little I moved up. For me, Arzuaga is a lifelong career, I started really young and I’ve been growing with them personally and professionally’. Winemaker Sonia even goes one step further when she says, ‘I’ve been at Arzuaga for 12 years and, after so long, it’s like my second home’.
So, even though the 8th of March is the date set aside on the calendar to commemorate and to give visibility to women and their work, the women here at Arzuaga do their great work every day. At Arzuaga, we’ve had a clear commitment to labour equality for many years now. That’s why on the 8th of March, we’re celebrating International Women’s Day with a strong sense of pride and satisfaction. Thank you all, ladies!
