At Arzuaga, we work with our wines all year round, from the vineyard to the barrel and bottling, always looking to get the best quality so you enjoy them. That’s why it’s always a big pat on the back for us when we see that you appreciate this work and that you choose Arzuaga. And, of course, it’s an honour to see guides and publications of reference highlight the quality of our wines. This is the case of the Wine Up guide, which in May included two Arzuaga wines among its selections.
The Wine Up guide is one of the industry benchmarks in our country. Its selection includes the best wines and spirits in Spain and its experience and rigour have turned it into a guide consulted by both professionals and consumers and wine lovers.
Besides the annual edition of the guide itself, Wine Up has a website where they regularly publish information, news and references of their scores for different types of wine. In particular, they use these scores to create rankings where they offer their readers and interesting selection. As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, in May, two Arzuaga wines were ranked on these lists.
They were Rosae, with 90.92 points, which was included in the ranking of Spain’s 10 best rosés: ‘Nice pale pink colour reminiscent of roses. On the nose, this is exactly the hints it gives us, roses accompanied by subtle red fruits such as cherry and strawberry. Elegant aromas that make it appealing to drink. It’s intense on the palate, with a pronounced acidity that strengthens the mouthfeel and gives it persistence. The aromas of strawberries and subtle violets come back in the aftertaste,’ explain the Wine Up tasting notes.
In addition, the 2018 vintage of our La Planta young red was chosen as one of the 10 best Tempranillos with more than 90 points and under 9 euros. ‘Garnet colour with a picota cherry rim and medium intensity. On the nose, we find a blend of red fruit and toasted notes with hints of caramel and vanilla. On the palate, it’s inviting, with a good structure thanks to its tannins, which give it a weightiness. It’s as intense in the aftertaste as on the nose; here the hints of fruit and the subtle toasted notes come out as well. All well balanced,’ affirms the Wine Up guide about this Arzuaga wine, scoring it with 91.08 points.
Now it’s just up to you to crack open a bottle of La Planta or Rosae… Cheers!
