Achieving a Michelin Star was already a huge source of pride for Taller Arzuaga and, by extension, for everyone who’s part of the Arzuaga wine tourism complex team. This achievement has also, in turn, led to some very special acknowledgements for us. Of these, today we’d like to tell you about the tribute from the San Pablo Burgos basketball club, one of the most emotional moments we’ve experienced since getting our Michelin star; emotion that’s closely related to the ties that have linked us to this club for years.
On 14th December, San Pablo Burgos faced RETAbet Bilbao Basket at the Coliseum Burgos, their home court. The entire Arzuaga family was in attendance to watch the game and be proud witnesses to the club’s tribute. Amaya and Nacho Arzuaga were responsible for receiving the gift from San Pablo Burgos: a jersey personalised with both their names. This acknowledgement wasn’t only focused on the Taller’s Michelin Star, however; it also aimed to highlight and emphasise Amaya Arzuaga’s whole career as ambassador for the city.
It was a very emotional event that was a pleasure to share with the Arzuaga family, the fundamental pillar and foundation of all the group’s successes. And, as we’ve already told you in past articles on this blog, family essence is key for both the development of Bodegas Arzuaga as well as of all the different initiatives that we’ve been working on and that today make up our wine tourism complex, the most complete in Spain.
Arzuaga and San Pablo Burgos
As we mentioned, much of the emotion the tribute brought out in us comes thanks to the close ties that have linked Bodegas Arzuaga with the San Pablo Burgos basketball club for years. In fact, this season we renewed our sponsorship of the team and an agreement is in place to include the Bodegas Arzuaga logo on the club’s official kit at all their matches during the season. Moreover, in this 2019/2020 season, San Pablo Burgos has started their journey in Europe by taking part in the Basketball Champions League in addition to the Liga Endesa in Spain.
