Thanks to all of you who were there with us for Midsummer’s Eve!

On 25 June, we celebrated a very special tradition at Arzuaga. The fire and magic returned to our Pine Garden to celebrate Midsummer’s Eve, known as La Noche de San Juan (St John’s Night) in Spain. There’s no doubt that these customs and bonfires are the keys to this very special night, but at Arzuaga, we want this special occasion to be even more unique, which is why we add good food, wine, music and a party to the magic and fire so that our guests have fun and enjoy an amazing night.

Once again this year, the striking Pine Garden located opposite Hotel Arzuaga and next to our vineyards turned into the perfect setting to host this party. Like all the parties we throw at Arzuaga, we gave lots of attention to the space and decorated it down to the last detail with taste and care especially for the occasion, where we lit the traditional bonfire. We said the traditional incantation around the fire and all the bad memories of everyone there with us went into it, making way for new and better times.

As could only be expected from a party at Arzuaga, we enjoyed the best Ribera del Duero wines and an amazing dinner where our guests put together their own menus thanks to the different stations we had set up that catered to every taste: veggies, acorn-fed pork, smoked foods, cheese, coffee and desserts. We also had our barbecue that’s now become a tradition: suckling lamb kebabs, Iberian pork secreto (a special cut from between the pig’s shoulder blade and loin), black pudding and chorizo sausage, veal steaks and bacon. Then around 1 am, we all got a boost of energy from some hot chocolate and cakes. The food on offer tempted the taste buds of everyone there who shared the evening with us.

But the dinner didn’t with the barbecue, as afterwards, it was time to put a sweet touch on the night with a station featuring select desserts including fruit skewers, mini tarts, petit fours, little cakes…

After the meal, we enjoyed a big party where DJ Curro Puertas was in charge of livening up the night to the beat of a special musical selection that was perfect for a night as special as Midsummer.

We definitely had another special, magic-filled night this year… and we already want to do it all over again in 2023!
