Summer is a time for rest, holidays, unwinding… But not at Bodegas Arzuaga. During these hot months the vines change, the grapes grow and the countdown to harvest begins. These are days of intense work in our vineyard. That’s why we want you to come and discover the vineyard in summer, when it’s bathed in an intense shade of green, and to see the beautiful sunsets in the heart of Ribera del Duero.
After a year of caring for and looking after the vineyard, the vines have matured and the emerald colour of the vine leaves shines more than ever under the intense July sun, with the vineyard in all its glory. The flowers have already borne their fruit and the grapes grow bigger with each passing day. July is crucial for vine growers since veraison is going to start taking place, generally at the end of the month: that change in the colour of the grape that tells us it’s beginning to ripen. The grapes are going to be growing in size and during this process, they’ll reduce their acidity so their sugar levels will rise. This is a unique process that we’d like you to discover for yourself.
That’s why we invite you to come and visit Arzuaga’s vineyard in summer. Because here, like nowhere else, you’ll be able to enjoy the beauty of the vine’s life cycle. The La Planta estate is in a stunning location in the heart of Ribera del Duero. The vines here get just the amount of sun and moisture they need for the grapes to ripen, and when you see them first-hand, you’ll be able to understand this life cycle a little better and learn more about our wines and our philosophy.
