As you know, Arzuaga is much more than a winery Hotel complex, traditional restaurant, gastronomic restaurant, wine tourism… different pillars make up who we are. If we pause a minute to think and look for a word that defines what we pursue in each of these areas and productions, others as effort or dedication would be, undoubtedly, “quality”. Offering the highest quality is a premise that we bear as a hallmark in each of the projects that run the seal of Arzuaga.
Today we want to talk about one of them that, perhaps, you still do not know: the Arzuaga oil. We are sure once, you’ll be willing to taste it after reading this post! Under the Arzuaga brand we make two oils, both extra virgin olive oils. They are of an excellent quality and 100% ecological, and their raw material comes from the Los Olivos estate, located in the town of Noez. The main difference we find between these two products is the lead with which we produce them, on the one hand the Arbequina olive and on the other hand the Cornicabra.
The variance between the types of olive used makes the sensory features of the oils are different as well. On one side, when we talk about Cornicabra Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 100% Cornicabra, we refer to an oil belonging to the Montes de Toledo Oil D.O., which won the first award in the Cornicabra Extra Virgin Olive Oils contest on this Denomination of Origin in the 2010/2011 campaign, as well as other important national awards. At first glance it highlights its bright yellowish colour. If we get it closer to the nose, we are facing before an oil of intense aroma, with notes of green herbs and unripe vine tomatoes, floral hints and with tropical notes. In the mouth it’s oily, unctuous, with good acidity, tasty, lasting and with a lot of expressiveness.
For its part, the Organic Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 100% Arbequina is green coloured and has a fruity aroma with hints of apple, a tomato plant and almond. In the mouth it has slight shades of bitterness and very balanced spicy nuances. If you have come to taste the new Gran Reserva Menu of Taller, you will already know our Arbequina oil, since it is the main character of our dish “Liquid gold (tomato, banana, chocolate)”. Spherification of tomato, ripe banana, steamed herbs and chocolate become the perfect pairing for our Arbequina.
If you want to enjoy an oil full of nuances and flavour, we encourage you to try Arzuaga oils!
