Arzuaga Rosae and sushi, the perfect combination

October always has us caught between two worlds: the summer that’s fading away and the winter that’s drawing near. That’s why today, we here at Bodegas Arzuaga want to suggest the perfect pairing for this month. Our aim is for you to enjoy these first days of autumn accompanied by one of our star wines: Arzuaga Rosae. You already know that we love this special wine, which represents the delicateness of rose petals like nothing else. It’s a Tempranillo rosé with all the personality of Arzuaga.

This wine comes from the vineyards on the La Planta estate, vines that are 25 years old standing at an altitude of 911 metres. The terrain and climate give it its one-of-a-kind identity. This is the source of its aromatic intensity, pale salmon colour and strawberry and raspberry notes. You’ll notice its delicateness on the palate, with a broad, fresh and pleasant attack that turns into a flavoursome and lasting sensation. It’s a delight that pairs perfectly with many dishes.

Today, however, we’d like to focus on one of our favourites: sushi and our Arzuaga Rosae. This is a couple that shine separately on their own, but stand out like no other when served together. Our rosé brings out all the nuances of the sushi, from its simplest versions to those considered real delicacies. If you have the chance, you have to accompany a glass of our Rosae with a sea urchin nigiri. The explosion of flavour pairs perfectly with this rosé. We also recommend trying it with a flambéed sea bass or marinated mackerel nigiri. The sensations of combining our wine with these delicious morsels will surprise you.

And if you go for sashimi, our recommendation is to order a bottle of Arzuaga Rosae and a plate of usuzukuri. This type of sashimi is characterised by its very thin, almost transparent slices. It shows the chef’s skill in cutting the fish and is only considered achievable by the best. The floral hints in our rosé will help you to enjoy this delicacy even more.

So, the next time you go to a Japanese restaurant that specialises in sushi or sashimi, we recommend choosing Arzuaga Rosae to go along with your meal. The result will make you try it again and again.
