A few months ago we received the Verema award for the ‘Winery with the best career in recent years’, an honour that practically tallied in time with our 25th anniversary in the Ribera del Duero.
For Bodegas Arzuaga turning years are very important, especially when it comes to wine culture. Our experience sums up to more than 25 years attending and taking care of the vineyards with sustainable and consolidated cultural practices. A quarter of a century holding firm the presence of our wines in the national and international markets. And a period in which the family and the team that make up Arzuaga have been reinventing us pretty much every year, betting and hitting on all the interpretations of the current winery and wine tourism complex that defines us, the most complete of all Spain.
25 years of posed challenges, and we can affirm that achieved. The herds of wild boars and deer have coexisted for years with the plantations of goblet-pruned and on a trellis vineyard. The winery’s winemaking and ageing warehouse had from the very beginning an ally and a neighbour sharing the same wall: the first restaurant framed within a winery in the Ribera del Duero D.O., our traditional restaurant. A period in which we also barge in the hotel infrastructure of Castilla y León with the first five-star hotel in the community. Later our SPA also became one of the biggest bets of the complex, with complete and leading facilities and an enviable location among vineyards.
But there is also something related to this period of 25 years and that is mainly bonded to our wines. Bodegas Arzuaga was part of that batch of wineries that, along with some cooperatives, endorsed the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin ten years later. Therefore, the contribution of all the wineries that in the 90s, supported this dream was fundamental, in an excellent way, for the consolidation of the Ribera del Duero D.O.
Nowadays, after many years of effort, work and prestige, the Ribera del Duero has become one of the wine areas with the highest international recognition in the sector of quality wines.
Rosae Arzuaga, La Planta, Crianza, Reserva, Reserva Especial, Gran Reserva, Amaya Arzuaga and Gran Arzuaga. All of them are award-winning and nationally and internationally recognised wines. But, in addition, they are all Arzuaga wines of Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin.
