A few weeks ago, before the coronavirus shook up life as we knew it and forced us all to stay home, we received a very special visit at our facilities. The team from the regional TV programme ‘El Arcón’, led by veteran journalist Javier Pérez Andrés, came to Quintanilla de Onésimo once again to get a first-hand look at the latest projects launched at the winery, the different wine tourism activities at the hotel and also heard all about our good news, such as Taller receiving its first Michelin star.
‘More than a quarter of a century present in Ribera and with exemplary exponential growth. Today, Arzuaga is a compendium of nature, tourism, winemaking, gastronomy, vine-growing and landscape,’ commented Pérez Andrés at the beginning of the report featuring Arzuaga. Pérez Andrés and Ignacio Arzuaga, the managing director of Bodegas Arzuaga, tasted new wines and old vintages and chatted in our barrel room about the past and recent history that has turned our winery into the benchmark that it is today.
‘Nacho, which wine best expresses the character of Bodegas Arzuaga reds?’ Pérez Andrés asked. Although this is a question that’s hard to answer, Ignacio went for the Gran Reserva, pointing out that if there’s a word that defines all Arzuaga wines, it’s gastronomic. Many different topics were discussed during this interesting conversation: the origins of Bodegas Arzuaga, the Newcomer Wine Award our Albillo received from the Guía Peñín wine guide, the importance of the vineyards… If you’re passionate about the world of wine, you can’t miss it.
Patricia de Juan, Arzuaga’s Sales, Events and PR Department manager, was responsible for telling Pérez Andrés about all the wine tourism experiences we offer at Arzuaga that make us a benchmark in Ribera del Duero, both for personal trips as well as conferences and company events.
Change of scene. In the Taller dining room, Ignacio Arzuaga sat down again in front of the ‘El Arcón’ cameras to talk about Arzuaga’s more recent present and answer one of Pérez Andrés’ usual questions: ‘Do you like what you do?’ You can see his answer, and the full feature, on our YouTube channel via this link.
