If there is a wine we recently feel absolutely satisfied in Arzuaga is our young red ‘La Planta’. This Tempranillo, made with our own grapes, brings together the greatest blend of joy, fruit… of life, after all. And, interestingly, not only has it received the warm approval and good comments from the wine expert critics, contests and prescribers, but also has achieved the best thing that a quality wine can achieve: it has found a niche and the people already ask for by its name in old quarters and neighbourhoods, where ‘La Planta’ has carved out a place on its own merits.
Proof enough of that fact is one of the most prestigious journalists specialised in the sector, Jesús Bernad, has placed our young red among the best wines of the ‘Ribera del Duero Roble’ for less than 10 Euro. And he also did it in the Spanish major top-selling newspaper, El País.
More precisely, Bernad has tasted the 2017 vintage of our ‘La Planta’ wine for this selection. “It has an impressive purple, cherry-red colour, with the violet rim representative of its youth,” says the journalist. With regard to the smelling phase of the tasting, Bernad highlights the presence of “notes of red wild berries of blackberry and blueberry type, but with a pleasant toasted oak hint.” In term of the tasting phase, the critic emphasises that this is a “fleshy, sweet, tasty wine with large fruitiness, full-bodied and with a very satisfying aftertaste.”
As El País stands out, our young red is a versatile wine, which suits perfectly to enjoy a snack or, for example, being the co-star paired with a good grilled red meat as a main dish.
Benchmark in the nation catering industry
This selection of our wine among the best wines of the ‘Ribera del Duero Roble’ category only and simply confirms that ‘La Planta’ has become the wine of the year, something that we have already notices in the nation catering industry. There is no doubt that ‘La Planta’ is the trend in vogue wine.
And is that our quality, an unbeatable price and the versatility of this wine make it increasingly common to hear how to order a glass of ‘La Planta’. Not a Ribera, not even an Arzuaga. ‘La Planta’ has managed to make a prominent name for itself in the national catering industry, becoming a benchmark among the wines of the Ribera del Duero.
