At Arzuaga, we work tirelessly every day taking care to every process in the vineyard and winery with one main objective: bringing the finest wines to your glasses. With each vintage, we strive to evolve and improve, which is why we are thrilled to see our efforts recognised in the most prestigious guides, manuals, and competitions in the industry. That’s why today, we are excited to share with you the fantastic results achieved by our wines at the Verema New Wine Competition—an outstanding three Gold medals and two Grand Gold medals!
Thus, Arzuaga’s Pago Florentino, a single estate wine, has achieved a Grand Gold medal in this competition. This red wine, crafted from grapes sourced from our estate in Malagón, Ciudad Real, has undergone a label redesign and bottle redesign in its latest vintage, which has earned it that Grand Gold at New Wine. The same medal has been bestowed upon our Arzuaga Crianza 2021 by the competition’s jury, which we can define as the flagship of our winery.
Meanwhile, one of our whites and two of our reds have secured the three Gold medals achieved by Arzuaga in the competition. And thus, Fan D. Oro 2022, Laderas del Norte 2021 and La Planta 2022 are the wines that the New Wine jury has recognized with these medals.
These accolades are a source of great pride for us!
New Wine Competition
As explained by Verema, New Wine is an International Competition with the primary goal of ’showcasing the innovations that have occurred in wines that, although they have been on the market for some time, have recently introduced changes in their production or market presentation.’ The jury for this competition comprises winemakers, sommeliers, wine distributors, importers, sales representatives, wine merchants, prominent members of the wine industry, journalists, and members of the Verema Tasting Panel.
As they assure, this competition ‘stands out as one of the few internationally recognised Quality Wine Competitions held in Spain, which awards the best wines introduced to the market in the last year with significant changes compared to the past, as well as entirely new references. The competition features new vintages, offerings from emerging wineries, novelties, special reissues, new releases, limited editions or wines that have recently started being imported into the domestic market.’
