At Bodegas Arzuaga, we’re the kind of people who think that any time is a good time to enjoy a nice wine. That there’s no need to pigeonhole the different options by just thinking about seasons and timing. Still, we’re aware of the fact that in summer it’s nice to enjoy a fresh wine and also that there are some wines that are firm favourites for the traditional summer meet-ups with family and friends.
In this sense, and first of all, we’d like to share with you two recommendations from Bodegas Arzuaga to enjoy on the hottest days, one rosé and one white wine; one Ribera del Duero and one Vino de la Tierra de Castilla: Rosae Arzuaga and Pago Mota. Two different suggestions that are both perfect for summer.
First of all, our Rosae is a rosé wine that we make at Bodegas Arzuaga using only Tempranillo grapes. Just by looking at it, you can see pale, salmony tones, while on the nose you’ll notice a very high and fruity aromatic intensity, with a particular presence of red and tropical fruits. Finally, on the palate, there are sensations of acidity and silkiness that invite you to take another sip. This is a wine we recommend enjoying at a serving temperature between 6°C and 8°C. It’s perfect for those hot days when you’re in the mood for something fresh.
Pago Mota, on the other hand, is the latest wines we’ve brought out here at Bodegas Arzuaga. A white, single-variety Chardonnay wine, very much ‘focused on the summer period, with the summertime heat,’ as Ignacio Arzuaga explains. ‘You should drink it at a temperature between 5°C and 7°C to enjoy its aromas, an ideal temperature for summertime,’ points out Bodegas Arzuaga’s managing director. As he affirms, ‘with this heat you want wines like this: fresh, cheerful and fun’.
So, although these are the two suggestions we think could be the best match for these summer months, it’s true that there are also times when going for one of the red wines we make at Arzuaga would also be a safe bet. For example, just imagine a barbecue outside, the kind that you enjoy with the best company. Alongside the meat and vegetables on the grill, there’s nothing better than one of our red wines… They’re spot on!
