Holy Week is one of the highlights on our calendars each year. Here in Castile and León, we enjoy a variety of major cultural and popular events all over the region that have been celebrated for many generations.
To give just a few examples, we might pick out the high artistic value of the floats that parade through the streets during the processions in the province of Valladolid. In Zamora, on the other hand, the processions stand out for their introspection and soberness. All the processions in the region, generally speaking, are known for their austere nature and the hugely valuable sculptures that feature in them. Moreover, Holy Week in Castile and León is recognised for having a large number of festivities of tourist interest that attract scores of travellers from all over the world.
Specifically, we have eight that are of international tourist interest in the following towns: Ávila, León, Medina del Campo, Medina de Rioseco, Palencia, Salamanca, Valladolid and Zamora. And there are also three of national tourist interest in the towns of Astorga, Ponferrada and Burgos.
Here at Arzuaga, we’d like to encourage you to experience these festivities in person and, of course, to stay at our hotel when you do so. This is a time of year when many families have some days off to rest and relax. That’s why we have the best hotel and gastronomy offer available for you that will fit your needs perfectly.
Our five-star hotel is ideal for anyone who’d like to enjoy nature, the vineyards, the benefits of wine-therapy and thermal treatments. You’ll also be able to enjoy the most typical gastronomy from Ribera del Duero in our traditional restaurant, or how about the avant-garde cuisine our gourmet Taller restaurant, created by Chef Víctor Gutiérrez?
You also have the option to complete your visit with an introduction to tasting workshop led by our winemaking team or a guided tour of our winery.
Finally, here are some suggestions that will help you to enjoy the Holy Week processions even more, right from the balcony of your own home. In the Arzuaga online shop, there’s a wide variety of our wines available, both in sets and individual bottles. To give just two examples, you can find the Deluxe box, which includes two bottles of Arzuaga Crianza and two Riedel glasses for €65 or a bottle of La Planta 2020 wine for €8.50. Everything will reach your house perfectly protected so that you and your loved ones can have the Arzuaga experience at home.
