At Arzuaga, we know there are many things that set us apart. Our high-quality wines stand out both in Spain and internationally; we’re the only winery in Ribera del Duero with a Michelin-starred restaurant; our complex includes a 5-star hotel and a spa… There are so many aspects that have positioned us at the forefront. But, if we look at just the wine tourism part, it’s clear that besides our well-looked-after vineyards and tastings led by our winemaking team, there is of course one special hallmark of Arzuaga that makes our wine tourism offering one of a kind in Ribera del Duero: our La Planta estate.
When we say that wine tourism at Arzuaga is much more than just good wine, it’s not just hot air. At our La Planta estate, the animal and plant life come together to turn your visit into a lasting memory. In the 1,500 hectares of space, you’ll find 150 hectares of vineyards, ancient oak trees and a reserve where wild boar, deer and mouflons all live side by side.
Starting with the wildlife, it’s worth mentioning that the animals are free to roam and live without any cages, enclosures or fences that would limit their movement within the extensive area where they are raised. That’s why anyone who visits us can get an up-close look to see how they live. Believe us when we say how impressive it is to see a deer up close with its imposing antlers and majestic demeanour, or how sweet it is to see a baby wild boar running behind its mother to suckle.
It’s no less amazing, though, to sit at the foot of the ancient holm oak on our estate and lose yourself in its branches. How much history has passed right in front of it! And, of course, we can’t forget about the 150 hectares of vineyard on the La Planta estate. The vines, standing at 900 metres above sea level, belong to the different varieties we use to make our Arzuaga wines. The queen, obviously, is Tempranillo.
The best part is that this unique natural space is just a few minutes from our wine tourism complex in Ribera del Duero. A wonder you won’t want to miss!
