Arzuaga Rosae released its first certified organic vintage

As those of you who follow this blog know well, at Bodegas Arzuaga, we’re increasingly committed to sustainability and organic certification for our wines. We’re continuing to make progress in this area, in this case with our rosé wine, as the 2022 vintage of Arzuaga Rosae is now certified organic.

As explained by Ignacio Arzuaga, the managing director of Bodegas Arzuaga, ‘we’re going to have more and more wines certified as organic since of the 430 hectares we have under vine, 330 are already certified organic. Thanks to the organic vineyards, we’re going to aim for balance in the vines that will be transferred to the wine’.

In addition, as Arzuaga wanted to point out, the 2022 vintage of Arzuaga Rosae ‘is made using grapes from vines with a very special clone that we developed at Arzuaga over 15 years, and this results in a more expressive wine than the one we were getting from the vineyard we used to make it with’, adding, ‘it has the same style, but we’ve improved the end result’.

If you’re not familiar with Arzuaga’s latest organic wine yet, we can tell you that it’s a very gourmet single-variety Tempranillo wine with structure on the palate. A more elegant, more subtle and more delicate wine, with some glycerol but easy-drinking. It’s a wine that’s agile on the palate, fresh and that represents a more modern take on the traditional rosé.

Rosae has a very pale colour because we aim for a subtle wine. It’s not a classic rosé on the nose, but rather a delicate, elegant, subtle wine. We find white flowers, such as jasmine, and a very light touch of tropical fruit. Broad and round on the palate, it has a bit of body while remaining light, pleasant and fresh, with an enjoyable acidity. It’s a balanced wine, and one that’s not made just for enjoying by the sea: it also has a very strong gourmet side, perfect for pairing with many dishes. We always include it at our Taller restaurant because it’s the ideal companion for avant-garde cuisine, and we also recommend it with our ox carpaccio with foie gras and Port reduction sauce at the traditional restaurant.
